Course Overview
This course is aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning.
Higher Nationals provide a wide-ranging study of the health and social care sector and are designed for students who wish to pursue or advance their career in healthcare practice or related fields.
The course promotes and instills the values and skills required to work within a healthcare field.
During the year you will study seven modules which could include law, professional principles, physiology and psychological perspectives in health.
As part of this course you will be required to complete a minimum of 225 hours of work experience within a health and/or social care setting of your choice. This will allow you to apply the theories and concepts of learning within the classroom to the practices and realities of a workplace.
Teaching staff will equip you with the healthcare practice skills, knowledge and understanding to work in the diverse health and social care sector.
If you want to accelerate your skills, this comprehensive university-level course provides first class training for individuals aspiring to work, or already working within the healthcare sector.
On successful completion of the course you gain a widely recognised Level 4 qualification. You will receive advice and guidance on applying to study at university for a BA (Hons) degree on a top-up year, or you could progress into employment a wide range of health and social care roles.
We look forward to welcoming learners with passion, dedication and commitment to learning at a higher level. Typically you'll need a relevant Level 3 qualification and at least 4 GCSEs at grade C (4) or above (including English and mathematics). All students will be interviewd and assessed individually.
