Tailored for supervisors or managers aspiring to advance into higher leadership positions, this apprenticeship equips you with a diverse set of practical management expertise and capabilities, empowering you to progress effectively along your managerial trajectory.

The Level 5 Operations/ Departmental Manager Apprenticeship provides a structured route for ongoing growth, offering eligibility for Chartered Manager or Foundation Chartered Manager status and paving the way for professional development.

The apprenticeship will develop your knowledge of operations management, enhanced by your hands-on experience in a day-to-day management role. The programme covers a range of topics including Management of Self, Managing People, Project Management, Finance and Operations Management. The culmination of the course is the completion of a project within your workplace that has a real business benefit, giving you the opportunity to display all of the skills and knowledge you have developed during the course.

Who is it for?
Middle Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Store Manager, Department Manager and a variety of specialist managers.

Responsibilities
Inputting to strategic planning, creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, supporting people through coaching & mentoring.

The Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager Apprenticeship provides a structured route for ongoing growth, offering eligibility for Chartered Manager or Foundation Chartered Manager status and paving the way for professional development.

Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their apprentices though most will be expected to hold their maths & English GCSEs at grade 4/C or above. Prior experience will also be considered. Apprentices will also be considered if they have maths OR English at grade 4/C or above, where this is the case, apprentices must achieve a Level 2 in Functional Skills by the end of the Apprenticeship. It is also recommended that the apprentice is supported to become digitally literate where this is important to their role.
