Course Overview
Would you like to aim towards a career in Psychology or a related field? Our Access to HE Diploma (Psychology) aimed at adult learners aged 19+, is the perfect way to gain entry into university to progress into courses such as Psychology, Sociology ,Forensic and Criminal Psychology, Counselling, Psychology with Education and Sport and Exercise Psychology This diploma equips students with critical thinking, research, and analytical skills necessary for success in undergraduate Psychology programs or careers in teaching and education, criminal justice agencies, social services or the health sector.
This part-time, one-year intensive course is designed to give you the stepping stone that you need in order be able to progress into Psychology or related field. This is a highly reputable course with an outstanding success rates, and will provide you with the knowledge, confidence skills to progress to study at university to study a range of degree programmes.
Modules studied on Access to HE Diploma (Psychology) include: Psychology Social relationships Mental Health and Illness Sociology Social Psychology Study skills Each subject is broken down into a number of graded units over the length of the course, towards the end of each unit you will produce an assignment to evidence what you have learnt. Our supportive teachers will use a variety of methods to help you achieve and learn independently within some units. The course will be delivered through a combination of face to face and some online learning. You will be expected to attend taught lessons on one day per week (9:30am-4:30pm approx) with the online elements completed independently at a time that suits each learner.
Students who successfully complete the Access to HE Diploma will have the choice of progressing to higher education level study in either February/March or September 2027 intakes in a wide range of subjects including Psychology, Law A range of degree programmes offering February/March 2027 intakes are currently available at regional universities including University of Wolverhampton, Coventry University and Birmingham Newman University.
You are required to have a GCSE in English at minimum grade 4/c or above, or level 2 functional skills. During the interview process, you will receive an in-depth one to one interview where you will discuss any other qualifications and or industry experience, along with advice and guidance as to the programme best suited for you.
It is essential that prepare for your interview by researching the entry requirements for your future degree course as this varies from course to course. If you need to study a GCSE Maths alongside the Access course then a further interview will be arranged. Access to HE Diploma (Psychology) - Blended Learning (January) If you don't meet the entry requirements for Level 3 study you may be eligible for the L2 Preparation for Access course.
