This programme is designed for technicians who maintain and repair electric/hybrid high voltage vehicle systems and components. The purpose and aim of this programme is to provide technicians, working on electric/ hybrid vehicles, with the required level of skills and knowledge to carry out diagnostice and  repairs to live high voltage vehicle electrical components and systems safely.

Upon achieving the IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing, and Repair of EV and Components (VRQ), learners  are primed for a range of exciting career prospects in the electric/hybrid vehicle maintenance sector. Equipped with advanced skills and knowledge in diagnosing, testing, and repairing high voltage vehicle systems, learners can pursue various roles as specialist technicians within automotive workshops, dealerships, or specialist electric vehicle service centres. Furthermore, this qualification serves as a solid foundation for career progression opportunities, enabling learners  to advance into leadership roles, undertake further professional development, or explore entrepreneurial ventures within the rapidly expanding electric/hybrid vehicle industry. Applicants are required to possess a current Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle and a Level 3 in Electric Vehicle
