Course Overview
Delve into the world of Robotics and Automation with this 10-week short course for adult learners using Kuka robots. Develop your knowledge of robotics using Kuka’s educational training cell, Kuka’s ‘iisy’ collaborative robot and Kuka SIM off-line programming software to gain the foundations to learn about the world of robotics.
This course will run one evening per week at our brand-new Institute of Technology Centre, Castle Street, Stafford.

During this 10-week course, we will learn about robot safety and the working environment, moving and jogging, assigning coordinate systems and mastering/calibrating the robot.
We will create and run programs, setup tools and bases and most importantly use and understand the robot motions.
KukaSIM allows us to create, program and test run robots in a safe virtual world.
This course forms part of our introduction to automation pathway.
This course could help support upskilling within your current role, which could then be used to progress into more senior/complex job roles or to support a career change.
This course could also support learners gaining employment in the industry of Advanced Manufacturing or to progress onto further study/higher education.
For entry onto this qualification learners would have ideally completed the 10 week Introduction to Pneumatics course in the Autumn term and have a keen interest in advanced manufacturing.
